This Privacy Policy describes how DailyQuotes ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the DailyQuotes: Quote of the Day mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address — used for authentication and account recovery.
  • Name — obtained from your Apple ID when you use Sign in with Apple, used for personalization.

1.2 Usage Data

We collect anonymous usage data to improve the App experience:

  • Product interaction — such as quotes viewed, liked, saved, and shared; categories browsed; and features used.
  • Streak data — your daily engagement streaks and milestones.
  • Onboarding progress — steps completed during the initial setup.

1.3 Purchase Information

When you subscribe to DailyQuotes Premium, we collect:

  • Purchase history — subscription plan and status, managed through Apple's StoreKit framework.

We do not collect or store your payment details. All transactions are processed securely by Apple.

1.4 AI-Generated Content

If you use the AI Quote Generator (premium feature), we store the prompts you provide and the generated quotes to deliver and improve the service.

1.5 Notification Preferences

We store your notification preferences (time, frequency, enabled/disabled) locally on your device and in your user profile to deliver daily quote reminders and streak notifications.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App.
  • Authenticate your account and manage your subscription.
  • Deliver daily quotes, notifications, and personalized content.
  • Track your reading streaks and engagement milestones.
  • Sync your daily quote to Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets.
  • Analyze usage trends to improve features and user experience.
  • Respond to your support requests.

3. Analytics

We use Amplitude, a third-party analytics service, to collect anonymized usage data. This helps us understand how users interact with the App and improve our service. We do not track users for third-party advertising purposes. The App does not use any advertising SDKs or ad tracking frameworks.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud-hosted database service. We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • Row-Level Security (RLS) policies ensuring users can only access their own data.
  • Encrypted data transmission via HTTPS/TLS.
  • Secure token storage using the device Keychain.
  • Authentication tokens managed by Supabase Auth.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers — We use Supabase (database and authentication), Amplitude (analytics), and OpenAI (AI quote generation) to operate the App. These providers process data on our behalf under their respective privacy policies.
  • Legal requirements — We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the App's Settings. Account deletion permanently removes all your data, including:

  • User profile and preferences
  • Saved quotes and collections
  • Liked quotes and interactions
  • AI-generated quotes
  • Streak history
  • Authentication credentials

This action is irreversible.

6.2 Notification Control

You can manage or disable all notifications through the App's Settings or your device's notification settings at any time.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy in the App and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
